Together We Shine: Making a Splash for A Safe Place

At the Wilmington Apartment Association (WAA), we believe that together, we shine—not just in our industry, but in our community. This year, we are proud to support A Safe Place, a nonprofit dedicated to helping victims of sex trafficking escape dangerous situations and rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

Through our Next Gen Committee, WAA is committed to giving back, and one of our fundraising events for 2025 is Dunk Your Landlord at the Azalea Festival! This fun-filled event gives residents the chance to dunk their favorite landlords, all while raising money for a cause that truly matters. Every throw, every laugh, and every donation directly supports A Safe Place, providing survivors with housing, resources, and a fresh start, showing survivors that their community stands with them.
