Government Affairs Committee:
Through collaboration, education, and commitment to AANC & NAA PAC, represent the interests of the residential property management industry and communicate those interests to members, the public, and elected officials. Deliberate over legislative issues impacting the rental property management industry, assist the WAA Board with crafting WAA’s position, and propose legislative agendas to the Board of Directors.
This committee meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month @ 3 pm.
Education Committee:
The Education Committee is dedicated to creating seminars and designation classes that will provide both financial and educational value for the members that attend. This committee will develop, deliver, and monitor seminars and workshops to address ongoing training and regulatory certification of the industry. Offerings include Fair Housing, Leasing Fundamentals, CFC & pool certifications, and legal seminars.
This committee meets on the 4th Thursday of the month @ 2 pm.
Programs Committee:
This committee researches and schedules programs for the monthly membership meetings. Its goal is to secure a range of engaging speakers and to present subjects that will appeal to our diverse membership. They also host a wide array of networking events throughout the year. These events are created to be a platform for networking and camaraderie. They focus on dinner meetings and various evenings throughout the year. They also plan the WAA Raffle every year.
This committee meets on the 3rd Friday of the Month @ 12 pm.
Special Events Committee:
This committee is dedicated to special events at WAA. This committee is focused on WAA Crest Awards and the annual Golf Tournament. They make the arrangements for the venues and the planning of the events from the day of the event to any preplanning that is needed. They also focus on the sponsorships needed for the events.
This committee meets on the 4th Thursday of the Month @ 10:00 am.
NextGen Committee:
WAA NextGen focuses on building future leaders. They are preparing the apartment professionals that are new to the industry for volunteer leadership. They focus on career development, networking, education, and community service.
This committee meets on the 4th Friday of the Month @ 10 am.
Product and Services Committee:
This committee serves as a committee for our supplier partner and vendor members. They focus on increasing supplier partner participation in WAA events, providing support as needed for WAA events, implementing education to assist our supplier partner and vendor partner members. Also, the Trade show is a subcommittee of this committee.
This committee meets on the 3rd Friday of the Month @ 9 am.
Trade Show Subcommittee: This committee is not a year-long committee. Its focus is on the planning and executing of the annual Trade Show and Maintenance Mania for the association.
This committee meets on the 3rd Friday of the Month @ 10 am.
Membership Committee: This committee has the responsibility of increasing and maintaining the membership of the WAA. They also serve as the first point of contact to new members.
This committee meets on the 4th Tuesday of the Month @ 10 am.
